Muffin top me

I think I’m going to have to accept it.

My metabolism just isn’t what it used to be. I put on my favourite pair of pantacourts (calf-length pants) this morning and to my horror, I had (all of a sudden of course!), developed a “muffin top”! And not just any muffin top, but a great happy, extremely sociable, jiggly muffin top that waves to everyone and anyone who passes by!

I have no idea how this happened but it seemed that it was an overnight thing! One day no muffin-top and the next, muffin-top! Surely is hasn’t been that long since I last put my pantacourts on? It was obviously my lucky night last night when the Muffin-top Fairy visited me!

Or maybe I should just be honest with myself and admit that yes that muffin top has been slowly growing and that sucking in my tummy just doesn’t make it go away anymore. :-(

I think my love of all things sweet and savoury, as well as too many Hoegaarden Citrons have created this monster!

Ps.
No, I’m not going to post a photo for you – it’s just not a pretty sight!

Please post a pic ;-)

There is nothing wrong with going around and sucking your stomach in... all you need to remember is not to laugh.. serious face ( you can attempt the slight smile, but be wary of inviting cheery chat/conversation that may lead to laughter) and of course, go the pout... mmmm very HOT, infact that will be my look for the week ;-)
serous face, gut in and pout. I think i would need a corset rather than just suck my stomach in... I weighed myself today at a freinds place ( i do not keep scales in the house...and when i use peoples bathrooms, i use their scales) and I am back up to 66 KG !!!! shock horror.. i gloomily went back into the lounge and took another delicate sip from my cup of coffee and had another piece of cake.. i found myself thinking "hmmm i need to do more walking"

How yummy are actual muffin tops??? they are so good... remember seinfelds 'top of the muffin' shop?..it just sold the muffin tops...mmmm muffins.... now i feel like more cake ;-)

have you been drinking a lot of beer after moving to Germany? You got lucky already bcos in France those long feasts have enhanced my muffin top I brought over from USA.

Matt: Hehe! I remember the Seinfeld episode that you're talking about. it's the one where Elaine (I think) opens a muffin top shop? Where she only sells muffin tops but not the bottoms? Hehe - too funny!

JT: Yeah, I'm living with mine too ;-)

Antipo: I think that there should be accessories for muffin tops ;-)
Some sort of decoration to celebrate and highlight muffin tops!

Bee: Yep - I've been drinking LOADS of beer in Germany and that probably isn't helping! Oh well, we only live once ;-)

Zewt: Check out this wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muffin_top

Oh, girl, I noticed the SAME thing recently when I put on my khaki pantacourt for the first time this spring... I used to always have a pretty flat stomach, even though I'm not very toned (a.k.a. I'm unathletic!), but I now am also growing the infamous muffin top.

I started using some small hand weights and doing exercises last week, and you know how many times I've done it since then? Twice!!!!! Ha ha ha ha... I think I may need to do more abdos than that if I want to see any kind of result. Oh well! I figure life is short, too. But I keep telling myself that the exercising part might help me get more energy too, which I've been lacking a lot of these days.

Muffin tops have been developped by fashion designers so you'll have to run to your clothes dealer instead of still putting on again and again the same pantacourt!
Don't worry it will go if you WILL (I know the "will" word hurts)
:)

LOL all of a sudden I don't feel so frustrated about trying to lose weight anymore.

FroggyWoogie: Hehe - yeah, I have no problems running to the nearest clothes dealer over and over again ;-) And the "will" hurts too much! Thx for dropping by!

Mir: Thx also for stopping by! Yeah, life is too short to obsess over losing weight...though I have my days where I obsess completely!

LB: I'm definitely not very athletic myself either and I would much rather have a beer on a terrace than go do some exercise! I think that's my problem ;-)

See, that's my problem, too. I am 100% aware that I no longer have my svelte girlish figure because of my love of the grape. It's either quit drinking, or accept my fate. I'm buyign bigger clothes.

Catt: Well, as they say, life is too short to deprive yourself of all the good things in life: wine, beer, chocolate, hot chips, cake....and the list goes on ;-)

Pantacourts - what a great word! They call them Caprihosen in Germany. Unfortunately I can't even fit into my summer pants this year. My entire body seems to have turned into one huge muffin! But I walked 4 km this morning so maybe there's still hope.

Hi Christina: Hehe - in the mean time, I'm thinking of baking some muffins this weekend! Well, you know, if you can't fight it....

OH MY!!! Popular topic I see by the comments... YES!!! Me, too!!! I am glad I am not in this boat all alone.. Usually by this time, I am in my bikini body.. but I will NOT be bringing out the bikini any time soon.. maybe by winter... hehehe!!! Oh... I think it has to do with age more than food.. and exercise always helps... I don't do my spin/yoga/rollerblading here in France... that is what kept me at a really normal weight!!!! Oh la la... HELPPPPPP!!!!!!

IslandGirl: I'll just have to live with my muffin top! I made cookies over the weekend and have been nibbling away at them since then!

Babe, dont worry! I dont know why people make such a big thing about muffin tops?! I have grown to quite like mine- I gave up smoking a couple of months ago and have piled on the lbs, gaining a little muffin top along the way! Ive had to go up a jean size, but even so it still hangs over! Eeek! Oh well, Im gonna enjoy myself and indulge x
