Where do the cows go?

After being away from Geneva for a grand total of 5 days, I have noticed all these changes that have remarkably developed in a short span of time.

First of all, going from the hotel in Ferney-Voltaire to work, the bare fields that I used to drive past are now filled with bright sunny little yellow flowers. Not just patchy clumps of flowers but entire oceans of yellow! And that seemed to happen just overnight!

Secondly, cows.
All of a sudden, there are cows everywhere, in almost every field. Where have these cows been in the last 3 months? I can’t see any sheds in the nearby vicinity of these fields. These cows have just sprung up out of nowhere. Where did they come from?

I have a couple of theories:
1. Aliens go from field to field in their giant but surprisingly silent space ships placing cows where they see grass. It’s something like putting together a big countryside set of Lego. Flowers go here….cows go there…..

2. People in Ferney-Voltaire keep their cows warm by letting them sleep in their own homes during winter. Once the winter is over, they put the cows out back in the field.

I’m leaning towards number 2.
